Chinese Studies & Service-Learning in Beijing A Unique Combination of Chinese Language and Areas Studies for All Students.
CET's Chinese Studies & Service-Learning in Beijing program highlights what many consider to be the most meaningful way to study abroad: immersion into the local environment. Every aspect of the program emphasizes Beijing--the program's core course, 21st Century Beijing, examines Beijing as a reflection of critical issues in contemporary China; students share rooms with Capital Normal University students; faculty-led field trips visit local sites; language classes require students to practice their skills out in the local environment; and service-learning placements acquaint students with local organizations and groups.
