Program Description:
Crossroads of Islam, Judaism and Christianity in Avila, Spain
Explore Spain's Legacy of the Three Cultures

CET's unique program of academics, activities and travel informs and advances the understanding we have of the three cultures of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism within the context of Spain's history, society, arts and literature. As the historical foundation is laid, students apply the lessons learned to the modern context and enhance their learning experience with experiential study trips to cities and villages near Avila, cities in Andalusia and, finally, Morocco.

CET is the first and only organization to offer American university students a program of study in Avila, a charming historical gemstone in the heart of Castile. Students have unprecedented access to nationally recognized experts and local community leaders. Program participants are welcomed by the mayor, attend private lectures by experts on modern counter-terrorism techniques and participate in activities with Spanish university students. With CET, you will be immersed in more than just the Spanish language: you will delve into aspects of Spanish culture that few American students ever see.
